Helvetica Constricted is a rendering where its reach is between Helvetica Compressed and Helvetica Condensed. Manner, the Nautical beam is scaled in a way what is optically unswerving with the widest compass fonts. The font was developed when printer ROM break was totally hard to come by, so it was created by mathematically squashing Helvetica by 18% (to 82% of the pattern Nautical beam), resulting in distorted letterforms and skimpy vertical strokes next to thicker horizontals. OpenType side was not produced by Adobe down the distortion premises, and recommended Helvetica Condensed a substitute alternatively. Manner, in Linotype\’s OpenType adaptation of Helvetica Mercenary mingy, the distortions bring about in the Adobe fonts are non-existent.
